shifted from innocence to setting precedences
yet nothing definite signing on to do the sets
with reluctancies to invest not likely to impress
like clever earthiness: "Do tell!"
including doubly effective burlesque
menacing gestures out carousing
top-selling albums playing to capacity
in Tuesday matinees at military bases
virile cow men singing and dancing
months after but failing to capture
an excellent cast not wildly enthusiastic
either like public reactions being surpassed
by fears of comparison in advance of ticket sales
unhackneyed and scandalous melodramatic romances
of pure fantasy goddess's enhancements exciting fashions
becoming a statue as something of a classic
at a fast pitter-patter by comparison outrunning the latter
hopes for the theatrical going under contract
with differing branches shortly thereafter
sold years in advance for first-act finales
stepping out in billowy gowns...
